Guidance for people not associated with a particular Church, for whatever reason:

Current rules of engagement

GiveMyStory.com is primarily but not exclusively for use by churchgoers for obvious reasons. However we would welcome contributions from those with no church affiliation if they have a story to tell that clearly demonstrates intervention by the God of the Bible in their lives at some point. God can speak to whom He pleases, He doesn't have to first seek permission from us. There are many people who are not regular churchgoers that lead lives at least as good as those that do, and there is no shortage of historical evidence available to support this view.

There is no formula that determines when an individual should start out on the journey of faith and the offer is open to everyone. For some people this happens at an early stage in their life, for others it occurs much later on. Christianity isn't just about going to church, or doing good things? It's about having a relationship with God. A favourite vicar giving a sermon on the subject of sin (hot topic in the old days) got a bit carried away and declared that he only wanted sinners to attend his services. For several weeks after that announcement his church ran almost on empty. Make of that what you will!

Food for thought?

The Universe and all life came into being somehow, it didn't just spontaneously emerge from nowhere. There are 2 possible explanations for the emergence of life. One is Neo-Darwinism, or one of its many variants, and the other is Creationism, the belief that life came about through the supernatural acts of Almighty God. Neither explanation can be proved scientifically in the traditional sense, it is a matter of choice which you decide to accept. However, overwhelming evidence from scientific research in molecular biology is being discovered that points to life in all its complexity being the product of a super intelligent mind, and why would anyone want to attribute this to anyone other than the God of the Bible. The evidence doesn't stack up that life came about by natural selection acting on random genetic mutations as evolutionist theories propose. There have been many books and scientific papers written by experts casting severe doubt on Darwin's theory convincing and appealing to some though it may be, including works by Michael J Behe, Professor of Biochemistry, Dr Lee Spetner PhD in Physics with special interest in organic evolution, and many others. As a result Darwin's theory as used to explain the origin of all life on Earth and the emergence of the millions of animal species (1.3 million so far identified) and plant forms (over 390,000 identified) has been largely discredited. There is little doubt that were he alive today in command of current knowledge from molecular biology, he would have severe doubts about it himself. Neo-Darwinism is also unable to explain the origin of the Universe itself. Happily the entire conundrum is explained by believing, as people throughout the ages have done, that we have a Great and Mighty God whose wisdom far surpasses that required to bring all of creation and the Universe into being. You could be excused for wondering why we have chosen to feature Darwinian evolution so heavily on our pages. Well that is easily explained. There is little doubt that it is one of the factors behind reduced faith in the message of particularly the Old Testament over the past 150 years, as evidenced by declining Church attendances across-the-board. Our aim is to help redress this and to provide a challenge to those who are hesitant about accepting Creationism as a plausible explanation for the origin of life.
