Better late than never
The question that
begs an answer: Is there really nothing more to life today than focussing
exclusively on satisfying our physical needs such as eating and
drinking to survive, sleeping, looking out for friends and family, and
accruing wealth and property? Modern society has increasingly
embraced a materialistic approach to life with abandonment of spiritual values.
Paul's teaching (Rom. 1:19,20) on suppression finds shocking confirmation in the words of Darwinian geneticist Richard Lewontin that provide a stark insight into the workings of the minds of atheists and secular humanists when he wrote in the New York Review,
"Our willingness to accept scientific claims that are against common sense is the key to an understanding of the real struggle between science and the supernatural. We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises of health and life, in spite of the tolerance of the scientific community for unsubstantiated just-so stories, because we have a prior commitment, a commitment to materialism.
It is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow compel us to accept a material explanation of the phenomenal world, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, that materialism is absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door."
What a disturbing admission! Richard Lewontin is an American evolutionary biologist, mathematician, geneticist, and social commentator and is considered a leader in developing the mathematical basis of population genetics and evolutionary theory.
This materialistic, evolutionistic, mindset now dominates elite culture and one of its leading advocates proudly announces its prevalence in society to the American people and to the World at large.
This astonishing revelation must surely be a wake up call not only to theologians but to everyone in society?
The Bible teaches us that we are spiritual beings and therefore Christians understand there is much more to life than the transitory proceeds of materialism!
So what would that be you might ask?
We all face death
one day. Will we reflect nearer that time, look back and wonder if life could have
been different, perhaps more meaningful and fulfilling?
Will we have regrets?
Now is the time to give the matter some thought. This web site has been set
up to help encourage people to give serious thought to these crucial issues
and to take comfort from the experiences of others. There is little doubt
that the God of the Universe wants to be actively involved in our lives from day one,
in order to steer us towards good things, and to protect us from evil.
So what could possibly be standing in the way? You will appreciate there are many answers to that question but one that is
prevalent in society today is the arrogance that stems from thinking nature is under its control, and science will provide
the answer to everything if it is pursued for long enough.
God can only succeed in His noble endeavours if we deign to acknowledge His existence and invite Him to join us in our journey
through life.
One could ask the question, 'to what extent, if any, has Christianity been a driving force for developments in science'?
The answer is that most scientific discoveries of value were made by Christians over the centuries. It would not therefore be unreasonable to acknowledge God's existence, and then afford Him at least some of the credit for these achievements. So where is the evidence for design in nature?
There is a growing body of evidence that is accumulating on an almost daily basis
from research into molecular biology in centres all over the World. The staggering complexity that is being revealed built into the design of all life
forms rule out any realistic possibility that it could be accounted for by blind Darwinian processes of natural
selection acting on random mutations over long ages. This is an out dated theory based on ideas circulating in the 19th century, culminating in Darwin's book with the abbreviated title of, 'The Origin of Species' published in 1859 .
Evidence today points in a very different direction. Intelligent design (ID) is now the name of the game and this of course brings God back into the equation where He firmly belongs. The links
visible on our pages are to sources that reveal the evidence for this magnificent conclusion. One has to admire our ancestors
for realising the truth without the scientific evidence available to us today.
How do we explain this craving that all of us have at times for a meaning to life that is not bound solely by our everyday experiences in the material World in which we live?
Why would God not place knowledge of Himself
in our inner being? This knowledge is of course still part of our psyche today but many of us have understandably been misled
by false but fashionable evidence to the contrary, and have abandoned the truth.
We wish to set the record straight and help
re-establish the truth of our Christian Heritage that was a beacon of hope for the Nations in times past.

It might interest our readers to know that we contacted every Theological Education College in the United Kingdom, a total of over 30, to ask them where they stood on the subject of origins and to point out the existence of this web site for their trainees to use once qualified. Not one of them even acknowledged receipt of our very polite email. This attitude is surely cause for concern?

Well certainly many are not if you believe the detailed article in the Daily Telegraph, 11th September 2021, 'Scientists 'covered up' links to Wuhan lab.
It has long been suspected that the truth has been withheld from the public regarding the origin of Covid 19. According to this article 26 out of 27 scientists who acted together to shut down scientific debate about whether Covid was manipulated, or leaked from a lab in Wuhan, had vested interests in protecting the Chinese laboratory. The Lancet which published their letter in March 2020 that condemned so called conspiracy theories declined to comment when presented with this evidence. Please do read the account in the Telegraph for full details of the letter that concealed the truth and besmirched the names of those scientists who questioned the reliability of their report. The entire episode is now being described as an extreme cover-up by the brave scientists who challenged the letter at the time, and were roundly ignored. So the moral to this is that society cannot trust scientists anymore than it can trust the average man in the street, in fact I would suggest less so because those in the top flight naturally sieze every opportunity available to enhance their reputation. There is a growing tendency for people to regard renowned scientists almost as God like creatures that need to be revered. This is a dangerous path to tread as it is simply substituting God, who deserves to be revered, with a human being who does not.
Of course Charles Darwin worship is another case in point.
History demonstrates that where money, careers or reputations are at stake men and women cannot necessarily be trusted to speak the truth, especially if they have no prior commitment to Christian morality or have an axe to grind. It is often those that question the mainstream view that are the more trustworthy because they are prepared to put their reputation on the line rather than simply go with the flow.
So what does the Bible have to say about the current state of affairs?
We were directed to the passage Matthew chapter 22:
The Parable of the Wedding Banquet
Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2 'The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3 He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.'
4 Then he sent some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.'
5 But they paid no attention and went off one to his field, another to his business. 6 The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7 The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8 Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9 So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.' 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.
11 But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12 He asked, 'How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?' The man was speechless.
13 Then the king told the attendants, 'Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
