Methodist Churches response

The dangers of ignoring the message from ID

The Methodist Church of GB are staying silent (Catholics by comparison are apparently allowed to believe anything they like. Whether God Created life according to Genesis is open to opinion as far as they are concerned, and scientific explanations based on Evolution cannot be ruled out)

We would now like to draw the attention of the Methodist Church to our free web resource that sets out to provide scientific evidence for the veracity of the Genesis account of Creation. Brothers John and Charles Wesley founding fathers of the Methodist Christian movement certainly wholeheartedly believed the Creation story of the Bible. Our website also provides churchgoers with the opportunity to give their testimony in a secure setting for the benefit of other people who may be searching for the truth.
Sadly, many Church denominations still adhere to Theistic Evolution as an explanation for how life developed on our Planet. Our website challenges this and any explanation that relies on Neo-Darwinism, or any one of its many variants. Theistic Evolution is a compromise that attributes the emergence of life to random processes coupled with a small contribution from God. This popular alternative ideology could be labelled progressive theology as it is based on a modern reappraisal of the Bible embellished with ideas dreampt up by scientists out to impress their colleagues, and further their careers. I wonder if God Himself approves of this 21st century enlightenment? It is as if some in the Church are trying to tell God how He created life! This would not be an unreasonable conclusion for Him to draw given the amazing, ever increasing, array of theories that purport to explain how life originated on the planet. These new age hypotheses which are little more than figments of the imagination conjured up in the absence of any verifiable evidence, are designed to eliminate Him from the scene completely. They are proudly announced to the World by atheist leaning scientists and then adopted by many in society and in the Church out of ignorance! What do our readers make of the situation today I wonder?

Shocking attitude of the United Methodist Church with a Global membership of 12.5 million people out to damage the lives of young children across the World

There is hope for the Methodist Church by virtue of the Creation Club

Does Biblical creation mean anything to us? Indeed, it does. All of God's revelation depends on His reliability in creation.

The inevitable conclusion to be drawn from our extensive survey is that broad swathes of the leaders of our Churches, at all levels, universally renounce the Bible account of origins and the rest seem to prefer to simply ignore its existence. This is evidenced by the fact that there is outright refusal to engage in any conversation on the topic with us, or with Church congregations. Today's popular cherry picking approach to the Bible could ultimately lead to the demise of some Christian denominations because the public are not as gullible as some in the Church may like to think, and God doesn't just communicate with Church Leaders. Many theological colleges all over the Western World subscribe to modern day interpretations of the Bible that seek to rewrite the Creation account. They do so by incorporating into the curriculum ideas from the secular World based on Darwinian Evolution. (when we contacted over 30 such Colleges they did not dispute their commitment to evolution based theology)! Thankfully there are a few Christian training colleges that still do adhere to the Bible account of Creation but they seem to be few and far between:

A Christian training college that shares our views - excellent article on the issue of origins

We are hoping the Methodist Church will see things as we do and at least give some thought to the issues we are raising and reply to our emails.

We would like to draw your attention to the following concern:
The Church rightly affirms the message from Jesus that those who believe in Him will be saved and inherit Eternal Life. See also Luke 10:25,28 for further details in Jesus's own words. The promise was made at a time when there was universal belief in Divine Creation, therefore the offer in the Bible was not contingent on making a commitment to accepting God as Creator, because this was a given. Additionally, believing in Him must surely mean believing in what He said, and stood for, and Jesus certainly believed in the Old Testament in particular the Genesis account!

From this stems our question:
Why would God accept people into the Kingdom of Heaven who reject the Genesis account in favour of the alternative human contrived explanation provided by Charles Darwin and other Bible rejecting like-minded individuals? Also Theistic Evolution only offers God a bit part at best in the Creation story so it is unlikely that this would qualify either as it is demeaning to Him, and does not accord in the slightest degree with the Bible account.

Jesus came to save but there are conditions attached.

The evidence is there for all to see that believing in Jesus means believing and accepting His words recorded in the Bible! Need proof:
John 12:46,50:
46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.
47 If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day.
49 For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken.
50 I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.

More compelling evidence that we must fully accept His spoken words, again from John's Gospel:
John 3:16-18
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of Gods one and only Son.

It was made clear that Jesus was present when the Universe and life came into existence. We reject this amazing revelation at our peril: John 1:1-14, New International Version:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was with God in the beginning.
3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John.
7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe.
8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.
10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.
11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.
12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

what did Paul have to say: Colossians 1:15,17
'The Supremacy of the Son of God'
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Also Matthew 19:4, New International Version:
4 "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female ..."

Jesus clearly approved of, and understood, the Old Testament writings and used them to explain points to His often hostile audiences on many occasions. How confident can the Church be that God will save people who are inclined to dismiss the Bible account of Creation partly because it is a topic that is steadfastly avoided by the clergy, and partly because society unashamedly promotes God denying Darwinian Evolution in its place? Believing in the Creation account, and Jesus's part in it, must surely be a requisite to receiving Eternal Life? Disbelief must surely disqualify all those occupying such a position! Why would God grant Eternal Life to those who do not accept the truth laid down in scripture that He is the Creator of the Universe and all life contained within it? In the eyes of the public the words 'God' and 'Creator' are virtually synonymous. If God didn't create anything He can hardly retain the title of God, and the message at the heart of the Bible is lost. This is of course exactly what atheists who are pushing these ideas want us to believe! This issue cannot therefore continue to be simply glossed over for the benefit of appeasing atheists who support the alternative religion of Neo-Darwinism and will stop at nothing to erode the message of the Bible, or for any other reason. Sadly churches across the spectrum are failing to uphold the case for a Creator God and the woeful lack of leadership at all levels on this crucial issue to date is seriously tarnishing their image. Let us try to analyse the current state of play:

We suggest there are basically three types of attitude prevalent amongst the Clergy:
1) Those who put their faith in man and happily accept God demeaning Theistic Evolution, the doctrine for life's origin perpetuated by many Theological Colleges.
2) Those who are uncertain of what to believe.
3) Those who secretly believe in Creationism but are unwilling to raise the issue with parishioners for fear of causing controversy.

The inevitable question that stems from this is, 'What does God make of this situation, this unwillingness by His representatives on Earth to uphold His message in the Bible, and act on His behalf'? Will He regard those in the 3rd camp, for example, as being worthy of Redemption with those in the 1st camp as being a lost cause? We humbly suggest that the attitudes of all three groups fall well short of what is required, and all are unacceptable to God.
those in category 1) above, because they have dismissed Him in His defining role as Creator.
2) above, because they doubt God's word clearly stated in the Bible.
3) above, because of their lack of action.
So what can be done to urgently remedy the situation?
The Church should accept responsibility for its error of judgement in placing too much faith in the proclamations of atheist leaning scientists, and lead people back to the truth now upheld by recent discoveries in molecular biology that point convincingly to life having originated through an act of Creation by a supreme intellect. We respectfully suggest this is none other than the God of the Christian Bible. The single, unique, and most important characteristic of God has always been that He is The Creator. To continue to abandon this foundational belief in favour of man contrived alternatives is arguably the biggest heresy ever visited on mankind in the religious realm. The modern day approach to life is typified by an ever increasing propensity to embrace transient worship of human replacements for God, coupled with an insatiable desire to accumulate material wealth. Television, magazines, mobile phones and the Internet are on hand to help feed this new obsession.

A possible way forward

There should be cause for concern at all levels within the Church about current attitudes but the good news is that we have a God of forgiveness, so the situation can be redeemed. We will leave it to the Church to figure out how.
