The amazing Periodic Table Those wishing to destroy faith in a Creator have focussed their attention on promoting Darwinian Evolution presenting it as a God denying alternative explanation for life's origin. Materialism is the belief at the heart of atheism that matter is the fundamental substance in nature, and that all things, including mental states and consciousness, are results of material interactions. It therefore denies the existence of the human soul. The periodic table of the elements, as we shall see, should therefore be a hot topic of conversation within the evolution advocating community, it should be a hallmark of their religion, whereas the subject hardly gets a mention in their philosophical debates. The magnifence of the fundamental building blocks that make existence possible have been roundly ignored as if they were of no consequence when in reality everything in the material world hinges on them. When we examine our material World at the atomic level we cannot fail to be amazed at what is found. As of February 2024, 118 chemical elements have been identified and named officially by IUPAC (The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry). A chemical element, often simply called an element, is a type of atom which has a specific number of protons in its atomic nucleus (i.e., a specific atomic number). Our entire World with all its magnificent life forms is built using combinations of these basic elements. We cannot manufacture any one of the elements from scratch. To do this we would need to know how to construct the three subatomic particles, electrons, protons and neutrons. We don't have a clue how to do this, and it is unlikely that we will ever be able to. To backup our claim here are comments written by experts in the field about the proton particle, our source being the Quanta Magazine which covers the latest research and discoveries in mathematics, physics, biology and computer science: 'The positively charged particle at the heart of the atom is an object of unspeakable complexity, one that changes its appearance depending on how it is probed'. "Inside the Proton, this is the most complicated thing that you could possibly imagine," said Mike Williams, a physicist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. "In fact, you can't even imagine how complicated it is." There is no way on God's Earth that any one of these proton containing chemical elements could have come into existence by themselves, and then proliferate across the planet in sufficient quantity for us to find, extract, and use. Planet Earth is estimated to be built from 10^50 such elements, with a total mass of 5.9722x10^24 kg so making just one element with the requisite number of protons would hardly fit the bill anyway, and of course elements don't breed amongst themselves being only the building blocks of life! So, returning to basics, just how are these different elements used: Every single object manufactured by industry relies upon the availability of sufficient amounts of the appropriate elements: 1) Steel for manufacturing made from iron (Fe) with 30 neutrons, 26 protons and 26 electrons, giving a mass number of 56. Iron is a unique element although it exists in various forms (isotopes). 2) Medicinal tablets made from a variety of basic elements. 3) Fuel manufacture containing mainly the elements carbon and hydrogen. 4) Microchips, the essential components used in the construction of all electronic devices, mobile phones, computers, etc., manufactured at a microscopic level using semiconductor materials, such as the chemical element silicon or, to a lesser degree, germanium. 5) Building site materials including cement, plastics, and glass all reliant on the availability of certain raw materials formed from these elements. etc. In regard to living organisms the trillions of cells in each one of us are constructed from a huge range of complex organic molecules built naturally using combinations of the basic elements provided in our diet. The extremely complex autonomous cell replication process, for example, taking place continously within all living organisms is made possible by the designed in properties of the many and varied chemical elements that life depends upon. All trees and plants rely upon the abundant availability in the soil of the fundamental elements in order to develop from seeds, and where would we be without water, and air to breath? Everywhere we look the hand of a designer with a supreme intellect can be seen, and to deny this is folly in the extreme. Each element is designed to perform differently so that an enormous range of different chemical reactions are possible, and new ones are being discovered all the time. In the time honoured fashion we take it all for granted never giving a second thought to how this all came about. Borrowing, and then adapting to fit, the phrase that Sir Isaac Newton declared in his General Scholium to the Principia when discussing the orbits of the heavenly bodies: 'Thus, this most miraculous, all-encompassing variability exhibited by our chemical elements could only have proceeded from the council and dominion of an intelligent and powerful being.' The list of uses is indeed enormous, every object on Earth is built from them but according to many scientists the elements were constructed automatically in the centre of stars. Research published in 2015 estimates the earliest stages of the universe's existence as taking place 13.8 billion years ago at the Big Bang, with an uncertainty of around 21 million years at the 68% confidence level. Isn't it amazing how clever human beings have become in recent years in concocting the story of the Big Bang and then forecasting with great accuracy exactly when it took place, give or take a few million years! So clever in fact that the Standard Cosmological Model (SCM), the name given to the current theory of cosmology, has refused to confirm itself by hiding away its essential ingredients, dark energy and dark matter. It is important to realise however that even without the Big Bang current understanding of the Universe requires dark energy/matter in order to explain the relative movement of galaxies. Dark energy and dark matter should make up 95% of the Universe with ordinary matter occupying a meagre 5%, yet is spite of an exhaustive search lasting many decades by expert cosmologists it is a shocking fact that none has been found. Dark energy was postulated to try to explain why galaxies appear to be moving away from each other with greater and greater speeds defying gravity. On the subject of "gravity", it might also surprise our readers to discover that scientists do not even know what it is in any fundamental way - we only know how it behaves, and although it is by far the weakest known force in nature the Universe could not exist/operate without it. The James Webb telescope 2024 was able to detect infrared emissions from objects too old, distant, or faint for the Hubble telescope, and we thought the extremities of space would be empty or devoid of fully formed galaxies! To our great surprise, the Universe is filled with stars and galaxies. Their pictures are beautiful but bear in mind that the coloration is entirely artificial. The images are viewed via the infrared, as opposed to visible light used by Hubble, therefore colours have to be guesstimated: Contrary to expectation fully formed Galaxies larger than our Milky Way were discovered much closer to the time of the Big Bang, assuming such an event actually occured. There would therefore not have been nearly enough time for Galaxies to form using the standard paradigm, casting further doubt on the entire theory and suggesting Galaxies were present from the beginning lending credence to the Genesis account of Creation. There are so many assumptions made by cosmologists to yield a result that fits with their personal ideology that none of these proclamations can be relied upon. You are given the impression that there are as many alternative explanations for when and how the Universe came into existence as there are cosmologists working in the field, all fervently scrambling to make a name for themselves by making up unverifiable explanations! It is also claimed by cosmologists and other scientists that the early Universe consisted largely of hydrogen and that over billions of years these evolved into more complex elements as a result of helium fusion activity within dying stars eventually arriving at the 118 known today. The question here is what drove this development that perfectly suits mankind's and all other life form requirements throughout the ages? Unguided events taking place in the early Universe could not have been the driver of this? The concept is based on the same principle used to justify Darwinian Evolution. Random, uncontrolled and uncontrollable events playing out over billions of years are bound in the end to produce intelligible, desirable and necessary, complex outcomes to generate our wonderfully ordered Universe. Nothing could be more preposterous! Darwinian Evolution is now in danger of having to share its reputation with the Big Bang theory of cosmology as the greatest scientific fallacy known to man. Full marks though for the scientists who designed and built the James Webb space telescope. It was a remarkable achievement, a masterpiece of engineering, courtesy of the God who provided the intellect of our brighter minds. If they keep on looking maybe the Heavenly Realm will come into view? I wonder what they would make of that? It would probably be hailed as success in the search for extraterrestrial life. I doubt if God would get a mention! Scientists should hold back from promulgating the Big Bang theory, and the accompanying guesstimate for the age of the Universe, because verifiable evidence, and agreed methodology, is non-existent. What you believe comes down to an act of faith. We choose to believe in a young Earth because this is what the Bible indicates and there is growing scientific evidence to support this viewpoint. We now have proof (ID) that life came about via creative powers, the hallmark of the Genesis account, rather than chance evolutionary processes, and this greatly reduces the reason to doubt any of the other claims in Genesis.  
The Universe is fine tuned to allow for life. A moral agent must therefore be behind its construction and we know who that is!
