As we look forward to celebrating 77 years of Israel’s reestablishment this week, we are very aware that we are still fighting for our independence. In many senses the war we are fighting today is just a continuation of the fury that rages against Israel’s regathering. God’s purposes are unfolding in our time, and the enemy cannot stop Him.

On Thursday night our skies will be filled with fireworks, but Israel is hurting. The whole region is in deep trauma and suffering. We bless God for His hand bringing the Jewish people back to the Land of our forefathers, while recognizing the heavy cost paid by all those who fought for Israel’s existence – back then and also today.
